Let me define faith:
Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence.
Strong or unshakeable belief in something, esp without proof or evidence
Don’t get me wrong, I am a man of faith. It is important to have your faith, faith in life and faith in what I do…
The thing is, sometimes people rely on faith and await passively for results. BNI is not about passive networking… It is about proactive networking.
Dr Ivan Misner, founder of BNI, says: “it’s not Net-Sit, it’s Net-WORK”
I say, commit to doing the right things:
– Build strong relationships with the right people until respect and trust are established
– Prove yourself to be a reliable expert in your field
– Take initiatives and work with the people and the system in place
– Put together business strategies with the people you trust to generate quality referrals
I’ve been specialized in Business Networking training since 2005 and I will say this: “BNI is the strongest business networking lever available”.
In my experience, the only business professionals, that are actually good in their field and don’t make money through BNI, are the ones that don’t commit to the necessary actions or leave before reaping the benefits of these actions.
Make your time in BNI worth your while… Take your actions to the end zone!
Reference: I’ve been a BNI member since 2004 and BNI director consultant since 2005.
